Usage and Indications:
Canesten® 6 Day Cream:
Canesten® 6 Day Cream is a six-day thrush treatment regimen specially designed for women who prefer longer treatment durations, experience vaginal dryness, or suffer from recurrent thrush. The package includes a cream tube and six applicators for convenient vaginal application. Please note that this product is intended for internal vaginal use only. If you need to address external itching, we recommend Canesoral Duo or Canesten 1 Day Pessary + Cream.
Canesten® 6 Day Pessary:
Canesten® 6 Day Pessary, on the other hand, is also a six-day treatment suitable for those who prefer this format. It contains six pessary tablets, which are inserted high into the vagina using the included applicator. This option may be ideal during pregnancy, but it's essential to consult your healthcare provider first.
Active Ingredients:
Canesten 6 Day Cream contains Clotrimazole 10 mg/g, while Canesten 6 Day Pessary contains 6 pessary tablets with Clotrimazole 100 mg.
Dosage Instructions:
For Canesten 6 Day Cream:
- Pull out the plunger of the applicator until it stops.
- Open the Canesten cream tube. Attach the applicator to the tube and hold it firmly pressed against the tube.
- Squeeze the cream tube until the applicator is full, then remove the cream tube.
- Carefully insert the end of the applicator containing the cream as gently and deeply into the vagina as possible. This is best achieved when lying on your back with your knees bent.
- Hold the applicator in position and slowly push the plunger with the forefinger until it stops. This places the cream in the vagina.
- Remove the applicator from the vagina and dispose of the applicator.
For Canesten 6 Day Pessary:
- Pull out the plunger until it stops and remove the pessary from the blister.
- Squeeze the cup end of the applicator between your thumb and index finger to slightly flatten the cup.
- Place the pessary into the flattened cup end of the applicator.
- Carefully insert the end of the applicator containing the pessary gently and deeply into the vagina. This is most easily accomplished when lying on your back with your knees bent.
- Hold the applicator in position and slowly push the plunger with your forefinger until it stops, effectively placing the pessary in the vagina.
- Remove the applicator from the vagina, wash it thoroughly, and let it dry.
