Colgate® Savacol® Mouthwash Fresh Mint and Colgate Savacol Alcohol Free Antiseptic Mouthwash are clinically proven antiseptic mouth & throat rinses designed to promote gum health and reduce dental plaque. The fresh mint flavor of Colgate® Savacol® Mouthwash provides a refreshing experience while aiding in the treatment of gingivitis. In addition to gingivitis, it may reduce discomfort from mouth ulcers and can be used as a denture rinse to prevent denture breath.
Usage and Indications:
- Mouth Ulcers: Colgate® Savacol® Fresh Mint may reduce discomfort caused by mouth ulcers. Rinse three times daily.
- Dental Plaque & Gingivitis: Reduces dental plaque and the incidence of gingivitis. Rinse twice daily for optimal results, preferably after brushing and flossing.
- Post Dental Treatment: Use on the advice of your dentist.
- Denture Rinse: Ideal for preventing denture breath. Rinse daily in addition to regular denture cleaning.
If red or bleeding gums persist for more than two weeks, discontinue use and consult your dentist. Painful, swollen gums, loose teeth, and bad breath may be signs of periodontitis, a severe form of gum disease requiring professional treatment.
Active Ingredients:
Colgate® Savacol® Mouthwash Fresh Mint contains chlorhexidine gluconate and alcohol. Colgate Savacol Alcohol Free Antiseptic Mouthwash contains chlorhexidine gluconate.
Dosage Instructions:
- Adults: Use 15mL of undiluted Colgate® Savacol® Fresh Mint. Children under 10 years: Use 7.5mL under adult supervision. Rinse or gargle for one full minute after meals and then spit out.
- Adults: Use 10mL of undiluted Colgate Savacol Alcohol Free Antiseptic Mouthwash. Children under 10 years: Use 5mL under adult supervision. Rinse or gargle for one full minute after meals and then spit out.
Safety Precautions and Warnings:
- Always read the label. Chlorhexidine can cause severe allergic reactions. Follow the directions for use. If symptoms persist, seek advice from a health professional.
- Do not use if the cap seal is broken.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not swallow.
- Savacol may cause reversible staining of the teeth and tooth-colored restorations. It may lead to increased tartar production and a temporary alteration in taste perception. Stains can be removed by a dental professional. Consult your dentist for stain or tartar removal at least every six months or as advised.
- Avoid contact with eyes. If in contact with eyes, rinse well with water.
